Plasma glucose levels are used to determine the presence of diabetes. Suppose the mean ln (plasma-glucose) concentration (mg/dL) in 35- to 44-year-old is 4.86 with a standard of 0.33. A sample of 26 sedentary people in this age group has been tested and gave a mean of 4.91 and a standard deviation of 0.54. Test whether the samples have lower level of plasma glucose than the general population.
